"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.

They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit."

Jeremiah 17:7& 8 (NLT)

The Ministry:

The Phoenix Leadership FORUM™ (PLF) is a ministry of the Above the Line Association, Inc. It has been founded to encourage, connect, guide, serve and partner with couples, between 30-45 years old, who are and will continue to be the leaders of our churches, businesses, communities, and nation over the next 10-30 years.

In today's culture couple's are facing challenges of unheard of proportions. Add the pressure of being in leadership and Satan has a way of multiplying these challenges.

Full schedules, building careers, financial pressures, raising children, developing friendships, church commitments and family communications can all end up out of control and find us sitting far from where God has called us as individuals and couples.

The Bible has some specific principles relating to a successful life and achieving significances as Christian couples and leaders in our communities. It is our desire to serve these couples in the journey of life, which God has placed them.

Our series is designed to build couples, individually and as a couple in the area of leadership, while building a community of support around them. From the monthly FORUMS to the coaching, peer mentoring and mentoring the focus is success. Achieving success in all areas of life, which will yield a life of significance.

Mission, Vision, Purpose:

Vision Statement

Our vision is to see Christian couples worldwide, turn toward a life of significance, taking the lead and stepping into the leadership positions to which God has called them and impacting their culture for Christ.

Mission Statement

To encourage and equip couples, in positions of leadership, for their roles as leaders in our culture. Partnering with them to achieve success in impacting their families, churches, communities, and workplace for Jesus Christ.

Purpose Statement

Encourage couples to unleash the truths God has given them to impact a culture for the Kingdom.

Equip couples to focus daily on a life of significance so that the culture around them will be drawn to them.

Partnering with couples to give them a sense of community and togetherness so as the challenges come in life they have a family to support and hold them accountable.

Lisa Beamer's Speech at the 2002 National Prayer Breakfast in D.C.

I told them about seeing the hawk soaring above the crash site in Pennsylvania and how God's peace had swept over me with the promise that for those who trust in Him, He would renew their strength. " The peace that came even at that place in my life was because of my hope in the Lord," I told the August audience. "The difference between those who stumble and those who run is only the action of hoping in the Lord."

Then I told the prayer-breakfast group a story that Jesus had once told about two men who built new houses-one on the rock and one on the sand. When the storm came, the house on the sand fell with a great crash. "The two houses were constructed of similar materials," I said, "and weathered similar storms, but the difference in the outcome was based on the foundation, the core."

If you live long enough, you're bound to encounter some rough storms. No one is immune to tragedy in this life. The house is the same, the storm is the same, but what makes the difference is the foundation. Todd's foundation was securely built on his relationship with Jesus Christ. When everything in his life was shaken, his foundation remained sound. The question each of us must answer, sooner or later, is this: How secure is the foundation on which I'm building my life?
